The Earthquaked.

Yes, indeed it did. At 4:30 this morning our house seemed to be "bouncing". Though not the first time we had experienced the earth move, it is still daunting. Not even a picture was es cue. And as it is said to have been a 5.4 quake, all is well here.

They say there were 6 aftershocks but I only felt one. I had taken one of our patients to the room and I was interviewing him when we felt the aftershock...This evening we are behaving as if nothing had happened. Perhaps that is because we were spared any of the damage and tragedy that often accompanies many earthquakes. We are grateful to all family and friends who have called and inquired about us.

Certainly we are all grateful and we say,
"Thanks be to God!"

  1. I have unplugged from the news so I was unaware of this, Cathy. Praise God indeed that you are alright. I've not experienced such a phenomenon so I can't even imagine it. I pray the balance of your weekend will be a restful and enjoyable one!

  5. Thanks be to God indeed, Cathy. Do you know there was a slight one here in Ireland - in Donegal to be precise,a few months ago.Thankfully there too, no-one was injured or property damaged.

  7. Wow, I heard about that one! It's kind of scary, huh? I felt two earthquakes here. The first time I was in biology in 10th grade and I turned around and yelled at the boy behind me for shaking my desk (oops!). The second time I was cuddling on the couch with my then 3-year old son reading books. I was thinking how happy that I was spending time with him when this happened because you never know when something is going to happen.

  9. 5.4 is big enough for me. I know how unsettling they can be. I'm glad everthing is A-OK!

  12. I felt that quake here in Middle TN!
You were much closer to the epicenter so you were really bouncing much more than here. The movements woke me up but I didn't feel any aftershocks.

We used to live in Anaheim, CA, so I knew what it was right away. I was shocked. Hubby slept right through it.

Thanks be to God you didn't suffer damage.
