Short and Sweet

Keller Garden, 2008

Then Peter came and said to him, "Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As may as seven times?" Jesus said to him, "Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times."
~Matthew 18: 21-22~

I've been hurt, and I've been wronged. Is refusing to forgive really going to help?
What have I got to lose?
~~~
Jesus, you forgave. Live in me so that I might forgive as well.
So I asked myself the same question. The answer for me is this. I have nothing to lose (hell), and everything to gain (Heaven). Pretty simple, huh?
  3. Wise words, Cathy. I'm pretty sure your garden benefits from tender care while at the same time providing those who labour/ rest there with the perfect setting for contemplation and refection.
    It looks really lovely.
  4. We had a wise priest preach on forgiveness once, and I've never forgotten it. He said that you haven't forgiven if you haven't forgotten. And forgetting is the harder part. He told the story of a saint (I can't remember who, and this is really paraphrased...) who asked Our Lord if He had forgiven some great sin from his past, and Christ said, "What sin?" I love that. We can only aspire to it. &:o)
    Oh, and, Cathy, your garden is just gorgeous!
  5. The lovely garden is a place of beauty right now and most of the credit goes to the diligence of Ron, who has real passion for keeping the grass from taking over!!! Thank you all!
  6. I thank God that the forgiveness He asks me to give others has already been given to me in abundance through the cross!
