~~Mosaic Monday~Macro Monday~~

Retreats are always a rejuvenating experience at the Archabbey. It's what I have been doing now for five years. It seems, for me, an appropriate way to enter Spring after a long winter. This year though the weather was entirely different than in past years. This year the weather was mild and it really did seem as if spring was knocking at the door. In years past there was snow on the ground and you still had to bundle up to walk to the Abbey Church for prayer. No so this year.

What a difference a year makes...Though my picture is not so much "macro" as it is and illustration in what I was saying about the difference from year to year, I hope I will be forgiven.

~Tea Talk~

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.
~Proverb

I'm having...Island Mango Peach White Tea from Lipton.  It's very flavorful.

My teacup...is one I got at Cracker Barrel a few weeks ago. Had breakfast with a friend and we got mugs to savor our tea at home and remind us that friendship is a real treasure.

I'm feeling...So very grateful.  The cabinets are in and the counter top will be measured and in another week or two it will be in place.  The kitchen is coming together and my how wonderful it is.  I am grateful to all who helped with this process from beginning to the middle here...not quite the end.  But the kids and Ron and the contractors from Lowe's have been just grand.

On my mind...is the weekend retreat at St. Meinrad Archabbey.  It's that time of year again when women from the church gather there for two days of prayer, instruction and community.  It's how I get ready for spring.

Sam's personal inspection of the new cabinets.

  Wishing all a wonderful Thursday!!

~~Weekend Wrap-up~~

This last week has been a week of ups and downs.  So it's time to share...

The best thing that happened to me this week was the facial I had...Oh, my how rejuvenating!  Made me feel renewed!  And then gathering with my Ultreya   group for sharing and prayer...rejuvenated again!

The worst thing that happened to me this week was, though I'd don't think I'd say the word I would use is the "worst," when grandson, Jonathan, was hospitalized, sent home stable, and then readmitted yesterday.  Today he will undergo an appendectomy.  It's hard for us because we cannot be there.  I do have the power of prayer on my side, though.

The funniest thing I saw/heard/did this week was when I asked a patient the name of her GYN she told me he was new to her and she thought his name was "S-freakin-aroni.  Oh I can't pronounce it!"

The craziest thing I saw/heard/did this week was overlooked as if there was anything crazy out there I missed it with all else that was going on.

The thing I was most thankful for this week attentive and good doctors.

Progress Still!

Yes, indeed, I'm making serious progress on Xavier's baby afghan.

Hoping to finish it tonight!

~~~^j^~~~
Thanks be to Gd!
Just a bit of wisdom for today, too.
Christ patiently awaits the return of the sinner and he gently receives the penitent.  This twofold mercy abounds in the heart of the Lord Jesus--his long-suffering in waiting for the sinner and his readiness in granting pardon.  ~~Saint Bernard of Clairvaux
~~Mosaic Monday/Macro Monday~~
Plaster and Paint!
The mudding and taping is done and the first coat of pain is on the walls!  The wallpaper is ordered and with any luck at all the floor will be started next weekend.  AND the cabinets are here!!!  I'm looking forward to the day when I might have a pretty mosaic again!
 Playing with the picture shows an all new side of the paint tray...
 Was a lot of fun!!!!!
~Weekend Wrap-up~
I'm a little late in starting as it has been a busy weekend here!  Bu here goes.
The best thing that happened to me this week was a wonderful dinner and evening with friends. The laughter and chatter and fun.
The worst thing that happened to me this week was finding out the cabinets were being delivered and we hadn't finished much of the kitchen projects.
The funniest thing I saw/heard/did this week were stories told about family antics and sharing some of my own.
The craziest thing I saw/heard/did this week was take a walk at lunch and even though the sun was out it was much colder than I thought.  I was determined to finish the walk, so when I returned to work my legs were just about numb from the cold...Everything else was well covered.  Silly me!
The thing I was most thankful for this week was the assistance of Roy and Laura in the work in the kitchen.  They have been a blessing!
~~Bad Haiku Friday and Haiku My Heart~~
 No control of time
Lost control of space
Often called chaos!
But to gain control
In the end it requires
Organization.
I guess this came to mind today because right now I'm living in one dimension and hoping for the return of the other.  Soon and very soon I can see that happening, even if it will still be weeks in completion.
Thanks be to God!!!!!
~Tea Talk~
If you are cold, tea will warm you.
If you are too heated, it will cool you.
If you are depressed, it will cheer you.
If you are excited, it will calm you.
~Gladstone, 1865~
I'm having...Constant Comment tea with a bit of Splenda to sweeten the beginning of this new day.
My teacup...Is a glass of orange juice right now, but the kettle is on.
I'm feeling...excited because I was able help by sanding the drywall and I removed the wallpaper.  I decided to take it down, reluctantly, because I was it would be faded or yellowed so that what I had left from having put up would not match.  Later yesterday after I had gotten it all down I found the roll that was left.......When I compared the two, old and new, I found there was no change in color. (SIGH)  Oh, well, live and learn (still!)!!!Another of life's lessons:  Even in the zeal to be prepared, always check the wallpaper with the leftover paper.  So now, I'll be wallpaper shopping!
On my mind...What color paint do I want in the kitchen and since I like the blue plaid wallpaper, will I be able to get something like it that I like?
Wishing all a wonderful Thursday!!
