No family reunion is complete without a baseball game. We were lucky to be in a city for our reunion where baseball is the name of the game. These pictures were taken by Ron. I personally enjoy the pictures of the St. Louis skyline. The pictures are all pre-game. That's because on an adventure like this one, if you are to enjoy it, you watch the game, cheer, have a beer, and heckle...ya don't take pictures. So what you see is what you get. You get the referees, the grounds crew (they don't get enough praise!), Fredbird, and a few celebs...OH! St. Louis was playing the Oakland A's and St. Louis won 11-3.

It's apparent that a good time was had by all!!!

--Tea Talk~~

A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how
strong she is until you put her in hot water.
Eleanor Roosevelt

My teacup is...really a glass of iced tea. I know it's early in the morning but it's already sticky with the humidity outside. Iced tea seems appropriate.

I'm feeling...renewed. I had a good night's sleep and I accomplished far more yesterday than I had hoped! It makes a body feel good!

On my mind...remembering the wonderful time we had over the 4th of July with the kids and grand kids. There was great food, slip and slide, laughter and great conversation.

~~Mosaic Monday~~

It was a grand 4th of July here in hot and humid Indiana. The kids and grand kids were here. The pond was repaired and little fish added to the pond. We had Thai chicken by Jimmy, a specialty of his and we haven't had it in oh so long. There was "slip 'n' slide" in the back yard and the walk to the river for the fireworks. There were the dogs, Cocoa, Duchess and Sandy. Indeed, it was a weekend to celebrate all the things for which we have to be grateful.

Please visit Mary and The Little Red House. Her pictures are grand and so are the pictures of others!

Happy 4th of July

Posted by Picasa

I was going through pictures of our trip to Montana and Colorado early last month. It's so grand to see the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains. We saw antelope and deer, elk and horses. There were lovely groves of trees and mountain glaciers. Amazing what the glory of God has to offer. All of this is in a country in which I have been privileged to live and explore at my leisure. This country has an abundance of resources both natural and human. Please let us resolve not to waste any of them. Please from this day forward do not take them for granted.

The family all begin to arrive tomorrow evening. Wishing you all a GRAND 4th of JULY!!! May all your fireworks be bright and all your gatherings be blessed with friendship and love.

~Adventure Tour Express~

“A man practices the art of adventure when he breaks the chain of routine and renews his life through reading new books, traveling to new places, making new friends, taking up new hobbies and adopting new viewpoints” ~Wilfred Peterson

It has been suggested that perhaps some would like to share their vacation adventures with others and maybe it could be done under one umbrella. So starting today, there will be an opportunity for anyone who wishes to join in sharing your adventures whether they be close to home or far away by linking your post here. Please feel free to jump on the Adventure Tour Express!

I begin with an adventure today that is brought to life by a walk down memory lane. Two weeks ago, already now, we visited a place Ron and I both hold dear to our hearts. I was attending Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, CO. City Park was the place where we girls would go for a walk to get out of the hospital for a while. We could walk around the lake, visit the Natural History Museum, or go to the zoo. Funny what simple things could relieve some stress or anxiety.

Ron was just across town at Colorado School of Mines and we met through mutual friends. Neither of us had much money so a date was usually Friday night to a movie and a hamburger after. Sometimes a date was as simple as a "walk in the park."

The park was oh so beautiful in the fall. The color of the trees at sunset were stunning. In the spring the exciting shade of green filled you with anticipation of the flowers to follow.

Museum of Natural History
Ron's favorite place was the gem and mineral
displays, especially the gold nuggets.

I also remember times as a child when we would meet The Aunts for a picnic in the park. Oh my, what fun we all had!!!

For all the memories relived through a grand adventure, I say,
Thanks be to God!

~~Tea Talk~~

"Talk and tea is his specialty," said Giles. "He has about five cups of tea a day. But he works splendidly when we are looking."

Sleeping Murder

My teacup is...my Tea Is the Cup of Life mug. And Life is GOOD!

I'm feeling...excited. Today we travel to St. Louis for the family reunion. Gonna be NOT and HUMID but conversation will be cool.

On my mind...All those we will miss because they could not come. And how nice it is that we are going to have a leisurely drive to the BIG CITY,

Wishing you all a grand weekend to come whether it be with family or not!!!

Thanks be to God!!!

A Weekend of Family and Celebration!

We had glorious weather for the Easter Week gathering of some of the kids and grand kids. We were gathering at 2:00 p.m. for the meal and then just sit around and talk or nap. Anisley wanted know if we were going to eat at 2:00 what was this meal called. "You know the meal between breakfast and lunch is brunch. What do we call what we are doing?" (Sophisticated for seven, and I had no answer. "Lunner?) We we ate a grand meal, chatted, played euchre or, like I said, napped.

The kids ate and Sandy was waiting for the scraps to fall.

When all were finished there were few leftovers.

We played and ate and had a grand time.

Finally, before he fell asleep, Daniel had an opportunity to entertain Ainsley and me. By the way, Ainsley is the director in this production.

So I'm hoping your weekend was as much fun as mine, for tomorrow we start all over again.
