~~Tea Talk~~

tea leaves
tea loves
loves tea
lives tea
leaves tea?
never.

~Uniek Swain

~~~~~
I'm having...This morning I'm having Irish Breakfast tea.
My teacup is...Boldly colored.  It's eye opening this very early morning.  No picture because cameral is on tripod for celestial photography by Ron.
I'm feeling...refreshed. Yesterday was a day when, although things are not totally completed, I made progress on projects.
On my mind...memories of a summer now passed and gratitude for the pictures to cherish when the winter winds are blowing.
~~Tea Talk~~
Iced tea may not have as much wisdom as hot tea,
but in the summer better a cool and refreshed
dullard than a steamy sweat-drenched sage -
leave sagacity to the autumn!
  ~Linda Solegato
I'm having...My standard on an early morning like this, Good Earth Original tea.
My teacup is...plain white.
I'm feeling...adrift.  When my children hurt, for whatever reason, and I can't fix the hurt or make it feel better I feel I have no control.  I'm in a rudderless boat.
On my mind...Prayers to the Holy spirit for his wise intervention.  Praying he has salve for the wounds.
It is good that Ron took this picture.  It has allowed me to realize that the power and the will of God is greater than I am and though it is not what I want I have to continue to pray and relinquish to him the anxiety and pain of my child.  I have to allow her to experience it and know that God is always in control and he will offer the remedy!
The mere chink of cups and saucers tunes the mind to happy repose.
~George Gissing, The Private Papers of Henry Ryecroft
I'm having...Lipton Bavarian Wild Berry tea.
My teacup is...delicate and familiar as I use it often.
I'm feeling...rested.   The morning is cool and the air is crisp.  Looking forward to a wonderful day.
On my mind...is the anticipation of this weekend's journey to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.  I will be meeting with Sisters of Providence and Associates with whom I can share my Journey of Providence.  We gather, often monthly, and this month we will spend 2 days at at The Woods.   And, oh, how The Woods will be transforming with Autumn knocking at the door.
The Woods in Summer
Hoping all will be as refreshed and ready for the day as I feel!  Wishing you all well!
Drinking a daily cup of tea will surely starve the apothecary.
~Chinese Proverb
I'm having...my favorite Lipton Blueberry and Pomegranate White Tea.
My teacup is...a plain and simple cup.
I'm feeling...rested.   The morning is cool and the air is crisp.
On my mind...gratitude for the  beginning of a new day.
~~Tea Talk~~
If you are cold, tea will warm you.
If you are too heated, it will cool you.
If you are depressed, it will cheer you.
If you are excited, it will calm you.
  ~Gladstone, 1865~
I'm having...my favorite Good Earth Tea, Original
My teacup is...my plain Ireland cup.  I brewed my tea this morning in my Longaberger teapot.  Great for a hot cuppa now and then served over ice later.
I'm feeling...grateful.   We had two days of cooler weather and we could open the house and let the kind breezes enter.  I found a great new desert recipe for the crock pot and can hardly wait until I can share it at a family gathering!
On my mind...the beauty of the rainbow outside.  We got very little rain...only a sprinkle really, but just look at the gift left behind.
Wishing all a wonderful day!
~~Tea Talk~~
We had a kettle; we let it leak:
Our not repairing made it worse.
We haven't had any tea for a week...
The bottom is out of the Universe.
~Rudyard Kipling
I'm having...Iris Breakfast tea.
My teacup is...a cup that wakes me on many mornings and sets me on course for the day.  It reminds me to keep my sense of humor.
I'm feeling...satisfied.  I accomplished a great deal yesterday.  I completed all the things I set out to do.  I can't always begin the day that way.  I made some more Zucchini Relish and two loaves of zucchini bread.  Shredded and froze 4 bags of zucchini.  Finished all the laundry and the was just on time to pick Ron up at the airport.
On my mind...the wonder that is the dawning of a new day.  God is good!  All the time!
Wishing all a wonderful day!
Tea Talk and Zucchini Relish
Come, let us have some tea and continue to talk about happy things.
Chaim Potok
I'm having...A new tea by Lipton.  It's called Island Mango and Peach White Tea.  It flavor filled and refreshing.  I sweetened it a bit with Splenda.
My teacup is...One of my favorite mugs. It says exactly who I am.
I'm feeling...satisfied.  I canned the Zucchini Relish yesterday and there is such a feeling of satisfaction.  I think they turned out well.  We will be taste testing it today at work.  There are some fine palates there.
On my mind...finishing the laundry...I want it done before the weekend in case we decide to do something special.
Zucchini Relish
Finally, for all who wish to have it, here is the recipe for Zucchini Relish.
Wash zucchini, DO NOT PEEL.  Cut out seeds.
Shred zucchini-10 cups
4 cups chopped onion
5 tablespoons canning salt
MIX-- Set out at room temperature overnight.
Next day--Drain, rinse, and drain again.
Put in bowl with:
5 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups vinegar (I used cider vinegar)
2 large green peppers, diced
1 large red pepper, diced
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/ teaspoon black pepper
Put in pan and cook until it boils.
Put into jars with lids (makes 6 pints)
Put into pressure cooker and pressure up to 5 pounds.  Or place in a pan and cover jars with water about 1 inch over the tops and boil for 10 minutes.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
~~Tea Talk~~
But I try to steal other moments. Sometimes I get up very early in the morning and enjoy a quiet house and cup of tea before the craziness begins. Other times, I'll take a quick walk on the beach. You can find peace in a few minutes.
Cindy Crawford
I'm having...Original Good Earth tea. It is a refreshing tea on this very humid morning.
My teacup is...a treasure. It was found in some boxes when cleaning the garage last week. She has three lovely sisters.
I'm feeling...rested. My grand son, Neil, helped me yesterday as we prepared for our dinner guest, Fr. Dave last night. He dusted all the furniture which was a tremendous help. Then he and I went to see Toy Story 3. We had a great time and on my did we eat popcorn!
On my mind...the upcoming weekend. I am so glad I have all the laundry done. This is our Saturday to work at Mother Teresa's Treasures. Then after that we will be shopping for the Gibault School picnic. Every summer Ron's K of C council has a picnic for the kids. So on Sunday we trek up north to visit with and feed the kids.
Finally...here is Sam the Cat In the Sack. Don't know how he did it without tearing it but look at that look of satisfaction.
A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how
strong she is until you put her in hot water.
Eleanor Roosevelt
My teacup is...really a glass of iced tea. I know it's early in the morning but it's already sticky with the humidity outside. Iced tea seems appropriate.
I'm feeling...renewed. I had a good night's sleep and I accomplished far more yesterday than I had hoped! It makes a body feel good!
On my mind...remembering the wonderful time we had over the 4th of July with the kids and grand kids. There was great food, slip and slide, laughter and great conversation.
~~Tea Talk~~
A book reads the better which is our own, and has been so long known to us, that we know the topography of its blots, and dog's ears, and can trace the dirt in it to having read it at tea with buttered muffins.
Charles Lamb
My teacup is...a plain white cup.I'm sipping a cup of Brown Palace Signature Tea. Delicious!
I'm feeling...satisfied. I have learned to use Quicken on the new Apple computer and life is good.
On my mind...Preparing for a long weekend that include the celebration of Sister Mary Maloney's 50th Jubilee at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. It also means returning on Sunday for a yearly gathering of Providence Associates and the Sisters of Providence. Oh, such wonderful anticipation!!!
High Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel while on vacation with
Ron's sister, Linda, was a highlight of the trip.
My teacup is...my Tea Is the Cup of Life mug. And Life is GOOD!
I'm feeling...excited. Today we travel to St. Louis for the family reunion. Gonna be NOT and HUMID but conversation will be cool.
On my mind...All those we will miss because they could not come. And how nice it is that we are going to have a leisurely drive to the BIG CITY,
Wishing you all a grand weekend to come whether it be with family or not!!!
~~Tea Talk~~
Tea was such a comfort.
Edna St. Vincent Millay
I'm having...Apricot tea steeped for just 2 minutes. Just right
My teacup is...I bought this set on a "Girls Day Out" three years ago. We had such a grand day together. One should always have at least one memory of shopping with the girls in the family...daughters, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters.
~~~~~~

I'm feeling...excited. There is a grand weekend planned here with Providence Associates and the Sisters of Providence. We gather for prayer, conversation and spiritual growth.

On my mind...Getting pictures downloaded and burned to CD so Ron's web page and be opened.

Tea and books-Mmmmm, two of life's exquisite
pleasures that together bring near bliss.
Christine Hanrahan

~~~~~
I'm having...Black Cherry Berry tea by Celestial Seasonings. MMMMM (again)!!
My teacup is...another of my teapot/tea cup sets. This was a Mother's Day gift from Wes, Annie and the Girls.
I'm feeling
...rejuvenated. Yesterday, I completed most tasks I set out to do.
On my mind...The Hagemeier Family as they bury their husband, father and grandfather today. He was a grand man, farmer and cattleman. In his 90 years he touched the lives of many people. May God greet Henry and embrace him as he enters the home of his Father.
Tea Talk
May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart might desire. Irish Blessing
I'm having...Good Earth Original tea, warm and sweet and spicy.
My teacup is...another of my teapot/tea cup sets. This was a birthday gift from my daughter Marianne.
I'm feeling...a bit tired. Wish I could crawl back under the covers and go back to sleep but the day has begun and I must begin with it.
On my mind...finishing my Bible Study responses. This year's study of Exodus is nearly over and I have learned much.
As I was working on "the cookbook" I found this recipe that was given me many years ago by a patient who would deliver these cookies to the office for us. One day she gave us all the recipe.
~~~~~
Deluxe Sugar Cookies.

1 cup margarine
1 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Mix thoroughly margarine, confectioner's sugar, egg and vanilla. Blend in flour, soda, and cream of tartar. Roll out dough and cut into desired shapes or just drop cookies onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake 7-8 minutes or until lightly brown on the edge.

Wishing all a grand and glorious day!

I'm feeling...the excitement of going to the annual Right to Life Banquet here. There are nearly 2000 people who participate each year.

On my mind...anticipation of the arrival of the Kids and Grand Kids from INDY this weekend. It's the Spring Musical at Memorial High School and we're all going to see Kellie and Neil perform in ANNIE!
