Haiku My Heart

Baseball is a game
It's balls, bats, gloves and practice
It's a boy's passion.

It's not just winning
It's the batting and catching
It's learning the skills

Baseball is a game
It's balls, bats, gloves and practice
It's a boy's PASSION

*******

This Haiku is a tribute to all who love baseball.  It's also a tribute to a  young man and his team who advanced to the semi-finals of the Regionals of the Little League World Series.   They didn't win.  No, but they did show amazing talent.  I know the hours they have practiced and the determination with which they have played the game.  I was even able to watch them play for the first time on national television and was amazed at the poise and maturity they showed.

Again I applaud the Golfmoor boys, coaches and especially Luke for making my day!!!  You were terrific!!!

The Joy in Tea Talk

I'm having...Vanilla Carmel tea this morning.

My teacup... is my everyday cup.

I'm feeling... content being who I am.  These moments are true blessing.

On my mind...excitement in anticipation of Marianne and Daniel's visit this weekend.  Coming to visit us allows Dad to concentrate on completing some remodeling at home.  I love remodeling as long as it's not my house that's torn up...Such a mess!   I am grateful for the roses in the garden that can be brought inside to be cherished.

Days of wine and roses laugh and run away, like a child at play.

Today I also join Meri for Share the Joy Thursday.   For I believe we need to find it in my life every day no matter the realities in which we live.  God is Good in so many ways even in times of trial.

Joy for me today is remembering the visit to the butterfly garden and OH the exultation I felt at the beauty of God creation!  The butterflies were various and abundant!!!

To share the joy I've  posted a puzzle from my gallery at JigZone.  I hope it offers you enjoyment and a bit of a distraction from today's concerns.

Mosaic Monday~~Summer's Garden

Flowers... are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1844

Even with all the heat and humidity this summer gardens seem to have flourished.  And as we enter the final days of summer let's cherish the blossoms, colors and aroma of the glorious work of God's hand.

Eden's garden must surely have been this beautiful.

The Joy in Tea Talk

Tea is a cup of life.  ~Author Unknown

I'm having...Celestial Seasons Iced Peach Tea

My teacup...is a glass full of ice.

I'm feeling...ready for an Autumn breeze.

On my mind...kids starting back to school next week.  It is so HOT here and they still have football practice and marching band practice.  I'm glad i didn't have to go back to school until after Labor Day.  Those "good old days."

The sunshine today is in the form of my potted marigolds!

Adventure Tour Express

A man practices the art of adventure when he breaks the chain of routine and renews his life through reading new books, traveling to new places, making new friends, taking up new hobbies and adopting new viewpoints” ~Wilfred Peterson

Hannibal, Missouri

The first leg of our vacation journey this year took us to Hannibal, Missouri.  It's a river town on the Mississippi River.  But you all know that.  It is the hometown of Mark Twain (Samuel Clements).  The Mark Twain Village right downtown is quaint and at 8:00 in the morning it's not very busy.  A perfect time to take pictures and stroll along the streets.

In the garden a statue of Huck and Tom

And I learned something else while there.  There are ties between Hannibal and Denver.  You see Margaret Brown (The Unsinkable Molly) was born in Hannibal before she moved to Colorado and was passenger on the Titanic.

It was a great beginning to a wonderful Adventure!!!!

I must apologize for the "glitch" in Mr Linky. I don't have any idea what happened that the thumbnail did not appear. Be assured, as I have tried it, that your link can be accessed in spite of this. Now I know how a Tour Guide must feel when there is a disruption in the travel schedule...
