Hoping for Sunlight

Saint Gregory Hall
Saint Meinrad Archabbey

Unlike this Sunday with no sun, only ice and sleet, last weekend was like a refreshing preview of Spring.  There is hope that his weather will not cause problems, but reflecting on this morning's Gospel reading [Matthew 6: 24-34], I should not worry but trust in the Providence of Almighty God.

Wisdom of the Fathers

Sunrise and sunset
Mother of beauty and grace
Warms the hearts of all

Great Spirit, Great Spirit, my Grandfather, all over the earth the faces of living things are all alike...Look upon these faces of children without number and with children in their arms, that they may face the winds and walk the good road to the day of quiet

Sunlit Sunday

“How sweet the morning air is! See how that one little cloud floats like a pink feather from some gigantic flamingo. Now the red rim of the sun pushes itself over the London cloud-bank. It shines on a good many folk, but on none, I dare bet, who are on a stranger errand than you and I. How small we feel with our petty ambitions and strivings in the presence of the great elemental forces of Nature!” ― Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories, Volume I
Love this quote written by one of my favorite authors.  Wishing all a beautiful Sunlit Sunday!!!

~~Sunlit Sunday~~

My Favorite Chair

If you invoke the Holy Spirit with a humble and trusting heart, filled with good desires, he will descend with his blessed light and inflaming fire.  He will come and penetrate into the very center of your heart, purifying it, changing it, enlightening it, inflaming it, and consuming it with the flames of his holy and divine love.  ~Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini~

~~Sunlit Sunday~~

When Karen invited us to join her on Sunlit Sunday I was thinking what a neat idea.  As a matter of fact, I have something to offer.  This post happens to be a copy today's posting at my other blog, Provident God.  It's like sharing the radiance of God in more that one place.  I think we should continue to pass it on.  So thank you to Karen for offering us this opportunity!  This, too, is providence.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.  ~~2Peter 3: 18~~

You can never say
Thank you to God too often
God is generous

All that I receive
Is generously given
I reply, thank you
