The State Fair Alternative
Much to my chagrin, the State Fair adventure was rained out for us...So my Saturday took another twist. As it turns out Annie had to go to school to work on her lesson plan for tomorrow morning. She has a meeting to attend and had to prepare the morning's lessons for the substitute. We all went to see "Mommy's classroom" this year. While the girls, Dad and Grandpa went to get Sandy from the "puppy groomer, " I stayed behind with Annie to help. I got to color code the dominoes, sharpen the pencils, prepare a sample lesson and be in awe of her organization.
So I missed the doughnut hamburger, deep fried twinkie, corn dogs. I missed the pigs and bunnies. But Annie and I had a grand time just being together!
~~~^j^~~~
Thanks be to God!!
Visit Mary at The Little Red House and share in the beauty offered there. Lisa at Macro Monday also has much to offer. The pictures are grand.
I would also like to remind you that Wednesday is Adventure Tour Express. Be thinking about the adventure you would like to share on our journey together!
Oh how wonderful for you. I got to spend Saturday with 4 of my grands and 2 daughters. The guys went to Bristol Tenn for the NASCAR race. Have a great week.
I'm glad you found joy in the alternative! I like how your mosaic reflects the fun you had.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to spend some time with your daughter. It has been awhile since my kids attended school, you mosaic was a trip back in time.
ReplyDeleteHow nice you got to spend the day! There will be other fairs :) Sounds like a fun day in spite of the rain!
ReplyDeleteSounds disappointing right up until the good time you had with your daughter. We were rained out on our day last year for our local fair and I haven't gotten over it yet. I needed some classroom time!
ReplyDeleteLovely time with your daughter is better than corn dogs any day! :)
ReplyDeleteNice to have surprise time with your daughter. Fun mosaic. School starting! I hope that means that the days will get cooler, but I'm afraid my area still has 2 more months of hot!
ReplyDeleteGreat mosaic! Hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHugs...
Times like those are precious! Cool school mosaic!
ReplyDeleteTeaching - so glad I'm retired!
ReplyDeleteLovely mosaic to remind us it's that time of year.
I think I could miss all you mentioned but not if funnel cake was involved. :)
Wishing Annie a wonderful opening day tomorrow and a super year!!
A great example of how something that at first seems sad turns out to something very good.
ReplyDeleteA good twist of your day. You got to enjoy spending quality time with your daughter. That explains the fun mosaic you have here.
ReplyDeleteBlessing. Wish you have a wonderful week.
I used to enjoy the days before term started, preparing everything and all things bright and clean and new. Your lovely mosaic brought it all back :-)
ReplyDeleteYet another teacher here (I can see there are a few others who have commented as well) ... often spent time on weekends in my classroom preparing for the following week. How lovely that you enjoyed the day despite the change of plans! Such a great mosaic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by to visit my MM post ... it's heating up over here at the moment as Spring get nearer! Daytime temps are getting close to the 30 deg C mark again ... our cooler Winter temps will be a long forgotten memory soon.
Oh, HORSEFEATHERS! I so love the State Fair here as well, but I don't think it is in our schedule either! I SOOOOOOO love seeing all the farm animals. I even milked a goat once and she was not happy with my city method!!!PULL HARD AND SQUEEZE! HEEEHHEEEE! Thank you dearest for coming to visit and I just adore John Michael Talbot's music...he truly touches the Divine Jesus in his work! Blessings, Anita
ReplyDeleteI'd give up the fried twinkies to be with my daughter too!! Sounds like you two had a good time together.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the rain but it seems you did make the most of your time and it looks like it was fun, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Sorry that the fair was rained out but it was probably better for your diet!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you still had a great day! I love a fair - fried dough - yum.
