Retreats are always a rejuvenating experience at the Archabbey. It's what I have been doing now for five years. It seems, for me, an appropriate way to enter Spring after a long winter. This year though the weather was entirely different than in past years. This year the weather was mild and it really did seem as if spring was knocking at the door. In years past there was snow on the ground and you still had to bundle up to walk to the Abbey Church for prayer. No so this year.

What a difference a year makes...Though my picture is not so much "macro" as it is and illustration in what I was saying about the difference from year to year, I hope I will be forgiven.

Thanks be to God!

A retreat at this time of year is a wonderful idea - and what a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful, what a place! Nice you had a mild winter this year, the mosaic is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful church, so grand!
ReplyDeleteCathy, I can't believe you asked how I did my mosaic. I have seen some of the most beautiful ones on your posts. If you use Picnik you can adjust the shapes of the blocks in any way you like. Your Abby compares to the beauty of Nazareth and Gethsemani. I am sure there are postcards galore on that beautiful peaceful place.
ReplyDeleteYour photos would make some beautiful cards.
