Spring, Glorious Spring

It Must be Spring
by May Fenn

Hush, can you hear  it?
The rustling in the grass,
Bringing you the welcome news
Soft, can you feel it?
The warm caressing breeze,
Telling you the sticky buds
Are bursting on the trees.
Look, can you see them?
The primrose in the lane,
Now you must believe it-
Spring is here again.

The Bee
by Emily Dickinson

Like trains of cars on tracks of plush
I hear the level bee:
A jar across the flowers goes,
Their velvet masonry

Withstands until the sweet assault
Their chivalry consumes,
While he, victorious, tilts away
To vanquish other blooms.

His feet are shod with gauze,
His helmet is of gold;
His breast, a single onyx
With chrysoprase, inlaid.

His labor is a chant,
His idleness a tune;
Oh, for a bee's experience
of clovers and of noon!

Wishing all a glorious week filled with blossoms and bees, and the aromatic fragrances only Spring can supply!

~~~^j^~~~
Thanks be to God
Cathy
  4. That's lovely. I'm glad your spring is springing along. Mine here in the Pacific Northwest exactly mirrors mine in Oxfordshire. Funny how I chose to live in two almost identical climates. My peonies are in tight bud still though, but the tree peonies are beginning to open. Love peonies.
