Riches of Rome, The Pantheon



The Pantheon is a magnificent church.  Once a pagan temple, now a beautiful place of Christian worship.  Built around AD 110 it is another Roman treasure.





Marble, black and rose
Marble cold in gray and green
Velvety beauty

Standing in the round
This stunning ancient beauty
It leaves me in awe

  9. standing in the round- oh cathy i just love this line of your haiku so much. somehow the vision of this gives me peace. little did i know when i hosted last week-i would become my mother's care taker as we navigate unexpected health concerns and only this pre dawn morning could i make my pilgrimage to feast on each haiku. beginning here is a rich blessing on a long challenging week. thank you friend.
