Rocky Mountain National Park
Crystal clear water
Lake formed by shrinking glacier
Until the snows come
~~~~~~~
Remembering all the times I've gone to "The Park" when I was growing up and all the snow on the mountain tops, it is so saddening to see the tops of the peaks bare. There were times when we could see mountain goats romping across the snow. I know that times inevitably change but to see this is disheartening! I do hope that understanding of the climate and the changes will somehow encourage changes for the stabilization of earth!
Thanks be to God!
Hello, it is sad to see the glaciers melting and shrinking. We saw and heard that many in Iceland are melting. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI remember one July 4th we headed to Poudre Canyon from Denver for a picnic. We ate campfire grilled hot dogs on top of a snow bank!
ReplyDeleteLovely haiku and agree the so called President needs to realize our earth is in trouble ~
Life is always changing, Cathy.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Oh may the glaciers return to the former glory!
ReplyDeleteHeartbreaking. And heartbreaking that so many in charge refuse to acknowledge what we are doing to the earth.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad. I was encouraged by a recent article in the newspaper about high school kids demanding changes that will reduce global warming. I think that's what it's going to take to make positive change.
ReplyDeleteYour haiku and memories are so poignant Cathy. Thank you for sharing this as well as your memories. I may never get to see those snow capped mountains and I love that you know them with all of your heart. That crystal clear lake of melted ice reminds me of a jewel...
ReplyDeleteWell said. It is truly depressing that with all the awful things that Cheeto Stalin has done, his true believers still support his every word and act. How these people can deny what is right in front of them, I'll never know.
ReplyDeleteAll those changes that are going on, and people not noticing or wanting to know: it is indeed heartbreaking sad... thanks for noticing and thanks for the beautiful haiku.
ReplyDeleteKudos to the "kids" of the world who are now bringing this to the attention of world leaders. They wouldnt listen to us, but they had better hear the kids! Perfect haiku.
ReplyDeleteIt is so terribly sad. Unfortunately we have so called leaders in our country who refuse to listen.
