Florence Remembered Part 2

ACADEMIA GALLERY

Michelangelo's David

Academia Gallery or Gallery of the Academy of Florence is one or the museums of Florence.  It's best know as the home of David.  It does have so much more to offer.
There are so many beautiful works of art and sculptures that I could have spent days and days there.

UFFIZI GALLERY

Uffiza Gallery is a prominent art museum located adjacent to the Piazza della Signoria in the center of historic Florence.  After the Medici family died out their art collection was donated to the city of Florence.

Today the Uffizi is one of the most popular attraction in Florence and one of the most visited in the world.  Another placed where I could have spent MANY MANY hours.

~~~^j^~~~
Thanks be to God!!
  8. I visited Italy when I was 20 years old but sadly was there on business and did not make it to any museums. A great regret. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
  13. Cathy - I don't go to many art museums, but when I do, I am drawn to this type of classical painting and sculpture, so I truly enjoyed this post. Thanks for bringing some culture to Mosaic Monday this week. I pray you have a blessed Holy Week and a Happy Easter!
