Odd football season
Different kind of excitement
But we're all still fans
~~~~~~
I feel I have to explain this haiku. I've lived in Indiana now for 40 years, but every fall football season has brought me to a realization that I have a loyalty to my home state of Colorado and those Broncos. It keeps me rooted in the Rockies and I can again get a "rocky mountain high!"
~~~^j^~~~
Thanks be to God!!

This made me chuckle for several reasons Cathy... first the inscription is on a ROCK and that it brings you home to your roots in the rocky mountains which are indeed high up! It is a fun haiku and I love that it brings you so many good feelings! Enjoy! Go Broncos!
ReplyDeletegood you have a way to your roots. It would be nice if football could just be football again.
ReplyDeleteI went to high school in Denver, and I know how hard it is to get Colorado out of your heart.
ReplyDeleteRock on ...
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Cathy.
i love and celebrate your loyalty! i also am happy for the joy it brings you. i am rooted to the ocean...and every photo i see takes me home immediately! ties that bind. let's revel in them!
ReplyDeleteMe Too!! Retired to AZ, then relocated to TX coast, But lived in Colorado nearly 50 years...still a Bronco fan!!
ReplyDeleteStay safe Cathy

much love...
What a great haiku and post. Home is always home. Clever!
ReplyDeleteA heart is always there were our roots lay... after 30 years 'away from my region' I returned to my roots and that made it extra clear... love your haiku! Big hug from the Netherlands
ReplyDeleteMy husband remain a Gators fan and is now a Carolina fan (mainly in basketball.) I remain pretty much indifferent to sports--except back when my son was playing soccer.For a few brief years, I kinda got into it.
ReplyDeleteTemporada extraña para el fútbol y para todo en general, a ver si todo esto termina pronto y podemos volver a la normalidad. Espero que estés bien, un abrazo desde el norte de España.
ReplyDeleteCathy - I can relate - we are still Cleveland Browns fans even though we have been in Montana for three years. You are right that it is going to a very different season, but we will still be watching!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that it's still possible to get excited about something positive during a pandemic.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I live in Florida now but I love the Dallas Cowboys still! I started watching them in the '70s...when I lived in TX and had 4 little boys to watch football with! Love your ROCK...how cool is that!
ReplyDeleteA little bit of joy in small things often gets is through the Big Bad Things!
