There is a wonderful Chinese Proverb that I read today the really touches the essence of our time with Tom and Kathleen.
One generation planted the trees,
and another gets the shade.
and another gets the shade.
So it is that Ron and I will be indebted to friends and family for the opportunity to "sit in the shade!"

ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous scenery...that water doesn't even look real, more like it was painted that blue color.
ReplyDeleteWas that Armadillo barbeque good?

I love the music and the pictures. We are so blessed at our home we call Riverbirch. 12 years ago we moved into this brand new home,no grass no tress. Now our riverbirch tree and all the oaks and maples in our yard are putting out the shade.
ReplyDeleteWe worked hard to fertilize and nurture them. Blessings

Just returned from your other blog and I think it is great you have that to write your feelings and reflections without comments but I wanted to tell you how nice it is. I am Catholic and recognize many of your quotes, etc. I was trained in a program call Befrienders sponsored by the Archdiocese of Louisville for parish nurses. The theme of the ministry is that if we do have a full cup and if it becomes overfilled it will spill out and be wasted and serve no one. Have you heard of the Befriender ministry?

Really so beautiful! I had to look through them twice!
ReplyDeleteAnd I enjoyed your Chinese proverb, it brought to mind my own parents and how my generation, and my children, and grandchildren get to sit in the shade of ALL they planted.
Beautiful post.
All the best,
Eileen
