It is a grand day
If for no other reason
Because it's Friday
On this Fall weekend
Get in your car and travel
The roads of color
The sweet calm sunshine of October, now
Warms the low spot; upon its grassy mold
The purple oak-leaf falls; the birchen bough
drops its bright spoil like arrow-heads of gold.

ReplyDeleteI feel autumn in the air with your second haiku. Thanks for sharing! They're both wonderful...and the image as well. Happy October!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors of autumn in this photo!
ReplyDeletevery beautiful haikus..! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo of fall color. I took your haiku's advice and looked for some myself, today, but since I live in Florida autumn color is hard to come by. I was surprised, though, by a lovely red maple flaming scarlet at a local park!
ReplyDeleteLook at the light on those reds and oranges and golds! How beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo of autumn, and I love your words too. Get out into the car, out on the roads and see the glorious colours of autumn, it is such a beautiful settled season. We are enjoying spring with all her fickle ways - sun rain wind calm hot cold - that's spring!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
Lovely! Beautiful pictures. :) I love it how the leaves turn orange and red...we don't have that here in HI, so seeing any picture of them is a real treat! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...wow you already have color! Here in Nebraska it has barely started to turn! I am jealous!
ReplyDeletewonderful Friday haikus! Wish I hadn't missed them on Friday! Hope your week is going well!
