Hibiscus Beauty

Earlier in the spring I was sure this hibiscus bush was dead.  We had such a hard winter and my knowledge of the  hibiscus being nil is was sure there was no hope for it.  Well, as you can see I was wrong.  There was nothing but dead branches and so I cut them to the ground.  Soon, to my surprise and delight, green leaves started to sprout.  Oh, my goodness, I am grateful for the resilience of the hibiscus.  Beautiful, though it is, it is strong and sturdy.

What a beautiful star I have found in the center of this blossom.  Nature's beauty is indispensable in the light of hope.

Thanks be to God!

  4. Hello Cathy, your hibiscus is pretty. So happy it survived. We have some rhododendrons that did the same thing. They grew back from the ground. Have a happy day and new week ahead!

  13. I would never have dreamt that this tropical flower/bush could survive a hard winter! We only see them in Florida and the South, never where there is real winter. Beautiful photos ... I love the cheerful colors!
