Beautiful old and wise tree, she is!
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods
The Alpaca at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods are treasures to be seen. Their wool supplements their income and the alpaca allows one to visualize and witness calm. Yes, calm. Watching them brings about such serenity for me.
Knitting with the wool spun from their wool is quite a pleasant experience, too. Skeins purchased from the Linden Leaf Gift shop at The Woods is identified by the alpaca from which the wool came. So you might have a scarf made from "Joey" around your neck.

Thanks be to God!!

...they are beautiful critters and I have a pair of warm alpaca wool socks to help keep my feet warm in the winter.
ReplyDeleteI'd like knowing the animal the fiber came from
ReplyDeleteThere’s just something so special about alpacas, even for those of us who wouldn’t know what to do with the wool! . I think it’s those beautiful eyes ... and, as you point out, the serene demeanor.

Oh how cool that you know which alpaca your wool came from. I love that and alpacas. They are such calm sweet creatures and if I had room, I'd have a few.

We have some alpacas near us being nurtured for wool. At least I think they are alpacas. I get confused between alpacas and llamas. Sorry.

Cathy - I have such a deep and abiding love for old trees. They have seen and survived much. We can only pray to be blessed in the same way. I can appreciate how alpacas bring you peace. What a clever idea to tell you the name of the alpaca that sourced the wool! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
