What a Weekend!

Forty-seven years ago today Ron and I married.  

It's been quite a ride.  It's good to spend your life 

with your best friend.

 We were at The Woods  (Saint Mary-of-the Woods) yesterday to deliver books for the annual used book sale  by the Sisters of Providence. It is also the campus for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.  Proud to say I'm an Alumnus.  It's always good to "go home to The Woods."

Finally, on Saturday, I was able to capture (on film) and photo of a bee pollinating the hibiscus.  Can you tell I'm totally captivated by the hibiscus...just cannot get enough of it.

Hoping all had as grand a weekend as I have.  God bless you all and...

The Alpaca

Today I join Meri for Share the Joy Thursday.   For I believe we need to find it in my life every day no matter the realities in which we live.  God is Good in so many ways even in times of trial.

Joy comes in many forms.

And this day has the potential of

being just as grand as

celebrating the beauty in

Knitting is something my mother taught me when I was 12 years old and for that I am truly grateful!!

It brings me joy, satisfaction and appreciation of God's nature.  The yarn with which I am knitting this prayer shawl is alpaca from the WhiteViolet Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods here in Indiana.  The yarn is a blend of two alpacas, Basilide and Linden.  Oh!  The joy this brings!!!

A Beautiful Friend

After the Summer of 2012 in all its harsh heat and arid days this lovely tree in all her majesty is gone.  She will be sorely missed by me when I visit The Woods.  She exhibited such strength.  But it is a reminder that even the strong will succumb to the will of God.

There are only a few pictures to whet the appetite. St. Mary-of-the-Woods located in Indiana is the home of the Sisters of Providence. It's the campus for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Most of all it is the Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, foundress of the congregation. Having spent time there again, I can tell you it is a privilege to walk the grounds where the good saint walked, taught and counseled. And it's hard to leave.
