~~Adventure Tour Express~~

A man practices the art of adventure when he breaks the chain of routine and renews his life through reading new books, traveling to new places, making new friends, taking up new hobbies and adopting new viewpoints” ~Wilfred Peterson
~~~~~~~
Today is a repeat tour.  I'm on the road to Baton Rouge, LA today to visit family and attend a wedding.  Please enjoy and take us along on your tour by linking below!  Wishing all a Grand Adventure!
~~~~~~~

Central City, Colorado

Gold found there in May, 1859 caused it to be
called The Richest Square Mile on Earth.
Saint James United Methodist Church
One of the oldest churches in the state.
Central City Opera House
Built in 1879 by Welsh and Cornish Miners.
Carriage House Sign
Store Fronts

A journey to Central City is step back in time.  Though gold mining is no longer the main source of income, it is grand to walk the streets and wonder what thrilling events took place here.  There is a wonderful book written by Caroline Bancroft about the history of Central City called Gulch of Gold.  I highly recommend it.

Today I also join Meri for Share the Joy Thursday.   For I believe I need to find in my life every day no matter the realities in which we live.  God is Good in so many ways even in times of trial so today this is my joy!

The joy of children at play.  The smiles on their faces and the laughter always is uplifting.

Please remember to mark your calendar for this year's Adventure Tour Express.  It begins again next Wednesday!

You've visited the city of Indianapolis for 33 years and you're still surprised by the sites to see.  That's what happened this weekend as we went to visit family.  There is so much to learn about a city.   We have family that live in Broad Ripple Village part of the city of Indianapolis.  Then this weekend we learned of another part of INDY, Irvington, Indianapolis, IN, an historic district and indeed it is a lovely place to visit.  But I think the best part of the day was Jockymo's Pizza!  Oh my goodness!!!

I'm only sorry to report that I got no pictures of the pizza!  No, we were too busy eating to get any photos!  Maybe next time!

Mosaic Monday

Posted by Picasa

Lord Frederic is one of two frogs who inhabit our wee pond.  Goodness but they have a big job.  He and his minion, Godfrey,(we haven't been able to get them to pose together for us) have been doing a fine job of maintaining the kingdom.  The mosquitoes seem to be in check and the serenading each evening is so comforting.  So the goldfish are thriving, the frogs are leaping and swimming, and all's right in their little kingdom.
