"To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was YOU."
If you forgive others their failing, your heavenly Father will forgive yours; but if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your failings either. ~Matthew 6: 14-15 (New Jerusalem Bible)

This is the second post that I've seen on Forgiveness today. And now I am on my way to make amends for something I said in a heated exchange with my nephew.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this, Cathy, you don't know how much it has helped to inspire me and open my eyes!
Love,
Eileen
Lent brings out so many good things Cathy and though forgiveness should be a part of our everyday life I find Lent makes one focus on forgiveness even more as we think of our Lord and the cross......I love this time of meditation and reflection and of course reconciliation.......:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy - Forgiveness can be difficult when wounds are deep, but carrying around anger and hurt and bitterness is to saddle oneself with a terribly heavy and painful burden. Thank you for the reminder!
