Rainbow For Renewal

Rainbows add joy to our lives.

It seems I got so busy last year that my home here has taken a back seat to the other thinks in my life.  Life is good and all has been well, but for some reason A Bit of the Blarney had to be quiet.  Perhaps, it needed time to rejuvenate.  We will see.  For the time being I'b back.

Last year became very busy.  In March we went to France and enjoyed our time there.  There was the Keller Family Reunion in July!  What a treat that was in the beautiful city of Charlotte, NC.  After Labor Day we went to Montana so we could visit the western part of the state and and especially Glacier National Park.  Sharing the time with my youngest brother and his wife was so very enjoyable.

Beautiful forests in Glacier National Park

Last fall we returned to Italy, this time to visit Venice and revisit Florence, Assisi, and Rome.  It is such a thrill to walk where the ancients have walked.  There is just not enough time to see all that you want to see.

So this month we begin a pilgrimage to Fatima and Lourdes.  To visit those places where miracles have happened.  I want to experience this for myself.  I just cannot put into words what this will mean to me.

~~~~~
Begin the journey
Pilgrims in Holy Places
Find solace and love
I guess that's what I hope I will find there.  Just to keep on journeying is such a thrill.
Bad Haiku Friday
Cross country running
Challenging and demanding
Discipline for life.
~~~~~

Grandson, Neil,  is in the 5th grade and has started running cross country this year.  This brings back fond memories of when his mother, uncles, and aunt ran cross country.  The training requires discipline and stamina and most of all a desire to run and finish the race.

The life of a Christian is not unlike that of a cross country runner.  Through hills and valleys the runner must run in order to cross the finish line.  We who follow Christ find those very same hills and valleys, but with proper training and the will to train, we too will find the discipline to carry on for the prize at the finish line here is priceless.

So this weekend we are off to South Knox for yet another adventure.  We're going to be there to encourage Neil in his race to the finish line.

Please visit Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings and read more "bad haiku's."  Offer your talent and skills as well.  It really is a lot of fun!

A Busy Weekend Ahead

to travel
and get there safely
a real "trip"

This is the weekend I begin my journey as a candidate as an Associate of the Sisters of Providence. I will spend Saturday at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods with my companion Sister Dorothy Rasche and other candidates to hear what is expected of us on this journey. Pray for me!

Then I'm off to Indianapolis. Sunday is Marianne's bridal shower. I'm not quite sure how to get to Marianne's as Ron is the one who always drives. Pray for me!

It should be lots of fun as it is an "around the clock shower." We will celebrate at Wes and Annie's new house and co-hostess is her sister Laura. It'll be fun to see what her "day" will hold for her.

Then, I'd like to get home by 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Our parish mission starts Sunday night and I really would hate to miss "opening night." Fr. Dennis is the retreat master and he was wonderful at our women's retreat last winter at St. Meinrad Archabbey. Pray for me!

You all have a grand weekend and I'll pray for you!!!
