--Tea Talk~~

Cookies are made of butter and love.
~Norwegian Proverb

Tea Talk today serves two purposes.  First to share my morning with you and also to clarify an error in yesterday's post "Once Upon A Time Recipes."

So let's begin.

I'm having...Celestial Seasoning Cool Raspberry Black Tea  though I brewed it with hot water instead of cool water...It really is a tasty tea.

My teacup is...my favorite Christmas mug.

I'm feeling...Embarrassed because I didn't proofread the Candy Cane Recipe better yesterday.  I glad however that I decided to make a batch of cookies for Ron as a surprise.  Because of that surprise I found my "surprise."  But I think and I hope I caught it in time before anyone started to make them.

On my mind...The Candy Cane Cookie Caper and solving the mystery of too little flour in the batter.
If you have already printed the recipe just make sure you change the amount of flour to 2 1/2 cups.

The batter is easy to work with...

I use my Pampered Chef Pizza stone to roll them out on...

Lay them on the cookie sheet carefully...

I baked them for 15 minutes instead of  9 inures because
I made them larger than suggested...

Ron was surprised and so was I because though they
aren't the fanciest candy canes I ever made they really
do taste good!

Wishing you all a wonderful Tea Talk Thursday and come back next Wednesday and I'll try to proofread my Once Upon A Time Recipe post a little better.  Hoping you will stop by and share your recipes!!

~Adventure Tour Express~

~~~~~
Adventures take different turns sometimes.  We were returning from a family reunion in Colorado and a visit to my mothers in Montana when we decided to take a side trip.  We were certainly pleasantly surprised by what we saw in Mitchell, South Dakota.  The Corn Palace truly is a palace decorated with corn...It is amazing and very lovely!  It would never have occurred to me to embellish a building in this way, but it really works!
It's corn, every bit of it.
Please share with us any surprise or exciting unexpected side trips you have had.  No adventure is to mundane...Life is an adventure!!!  Link your adventure below so we can all enjoy!
IF YOU COULD COME BACK AS AN ANIMAL, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
I believe if I was to come back as an animal I think it would be a kangaroo. Bouncing around seems like fun and with that pouch there's no need to carry a purse.
Who'd have thought...
First Class
Ron and I have traveled some in our 40 years of marriage, though not extensively and it has mostly been to visit family. So when this summer's vacation itinerary was adopted we knew it would be exciting and challenging...
The first trip to MT started off a little rocky with a storm delay in INDY that caused us to miss our scheduled flight out of Minneapolis. Northwest took great care to make sure our flight and plans were not disrupted to dramatically. As a matter of fact, when we got off the plane in Minneapolis they already had our tickets to Billings available to us and much to our surprise we were up-graded to 1st Class.
The next trip was to the Stubbs Family Reunion in Santa Fe. All went well in our travels until our flight home. It seems the American Airlines plane that arrived the night before from LA had smoke in the cabin and it needed to be test flown to make sure it was safe to carry passengers. We were going to be late leaving Albuquerque by about 1 1/2 hours. American was great and had our flight to INDY scheduled without too much delay. When we arrived in Dallas, Marianne noticed that there was an earlier flight to INDY and so we decided that since we would not lose our seats if we chose to fly stand-by we'd give it a shot...Well, we made the stand-by flight and much to our surprise and delight we were again seated in...YES, 1st Class.
Knowing this may never happen again, Ron and I have laughed and shaken our heads in delight. It will be known as the Summer of 2008 Keller's Great Travel Adventure that began and ended in FIRST CLASS!!!
I have an announcement to make...
Yesterday, much to my delight, my daughter, Laura, started her blog. She has started it by sharing her family's journey to MT this past week. Please stop by and say, "Hello." Her address is Exuberance. I'm sure she'd love your visit just as I do.
Oh! Had to go back to the GreeN...Didn't realize how accustomed to it I had become. Everyone please have a grand evening!!!
The Earthquaked.
Yes, indeed it did. At 4:30 this morning our house seemed to be "bouncing". Though not the first time we had experienced the earth move, it is still daunting. Not even a picture was es cue. And as it is said to have been a 5.4 quake, all is well here.
They say there were 6 aftershocks but I only felt one. I had taken one of our patients to the room and I was interviewing him when we felt the aftershock...This evening we are behaving as if nothing had happened. Perhaps that is because we were spared any of the damage and tragedy that often accompanies many earthquakes. We are grateful to all family and friends who have called and inquired about us.
Certainly we are all grateful and we say,
"Thanks be to God!"
