~~Tea Talk~~

tea leaves
tea loves
loves tea
lives tea
leaves tea?
never.

~Uniek Swain

~~~~~
I'm having...This morning I'm having Irish Breakfast tea.
My teacup is...Boldly colored.  It's eye opening this very early morning.  No picture because cameral is on tripod for celestial photography by Ron.
I'm feeling...refreshed. Yesterday was a day when, although things are not totally completed, I made progress on projects.
On my mind...memories of a summer now passed and gratitude for the pictures to cherish when the winter winds are blowing.
~~Adventure Tour Epress~~
LABOR DAY, 2010
PART I
The adventure started the day before as we began our trek from Indiana to Georgia.   Atlanta has a
lovely skyline.  As it happens Uncle Jimmy had plans for Grandpa, Dad and the four boys.  You see the Dragon Con Parade was on Saturday
And it was a glorious day in Olympic Park.  What a beautiful sky and lovely feathery clouds
There was lots of things of the boys to do while waiting for the parade to begin.  They were able to make stands for their footballs.  All of this sponsored by Home Depot.
What a thrill it was for all the "Boys" to see Bat Man and his Bat Mobile...
And look at all those famous super heroes!
Finally, there was the thrill of having your picture taken with a real race car...Well, maybe not so much these boys, as they live in Charlotte, NC and they get to see these kinds of cars all the time.  But it was fun for Grandpa.
And what were Maddie, Mom, Aunt Kelly, and Mom doing?  We were at the outlet mall just having a wonderful time!!  And as for Maddie...She's a trooper!!!  Yep!  Shopping is in the blood!  And Part II will be shared next week!
~~Mosaic Monday~~
When I tried to take pictures this week of the full moon and Jupiter I had no luck whatsoever.  Ron went out one evening a just sat patiently and this is the result.  There was no telescope and just the inexpensive Canon...Well done, Ron!!!!
Laughter MEME
Picture by Mary Engelbreit
Sue at In Him We Live And Move And Have Our Being has challenged some to a Laughter MEME.  As she says:
Since laughter is not only healthy (apparently), but also fun, how about challenging folks to post links to the funniest thing they've ever seen? It could be a video or a picture or a joke... but something that's sure to get folks laughing.
So here is mine!!!  I find myself laughing heartily every time I see it.  Please enjoy!!!
Now I offer this challenge to:
Feeling Reflecltive
The Sacredness of God's Handiwork
How do we live in creation?  Do we relate to it as a place full of "things" we can use for whatever need we want to fulfill and whatever goal we wish to acomplish?  Or do we see creation first of all as a sacramental reality, a sacred space where God reveals to us the immense bearty of the Divine?
As long as we only use creation, we cannot recognize its sacredness because we are approaching it as if we were its owners.  But when we relate to all that surrounds us as created by the same God who created us and as the place where God appears to us and calls us to worship and adoration, then we are able to recognize the sacredness of all God's handiwork.
Bread for the Journey
A Day book of Wisdom and Faith
by Henri J. M. Nouwen
I must spend time today in reflection and gratitude for all I am privileged to know and see, love and cherish.  For all are the gifts of the creator and I must come to know its real worth!
~~Tea Talk~~
Iced tea may not have as much wisdom as hot tea,
but in the summer better a cool and refreshed
dullard than a steamy sweat-drenched sage -
leave sagacity to the autumn!
  ~Linda Solegato
I'm having...My standard on an early morning like this, Good Earth Original tea.
My teacup is...plain white.
I'm feeling...adrift.  When my children hurt, for whatever reason, and I can't fix the hurt or make it feel better I feel I have no control.  I'm in a rudderless boat.
On my mind...Prayers to the Holy spirit for his wise intervention.  Praying he has salve for the wounds.
It is good that Ron took this picture.  It has allowed me to realize that the power and the will of God is greater than I am and though it is not what I want I have to continue to pray and relinquish to him the anxiety and pain of my child.  I have to allow her to experience it and know that God is always in control and he will offer the remedy!
~~Adventure Tour Express~~
We had a grand time this summer in the St. Louis area.  One
of the surprises was finding out that the last home for Daniel
Boone was near the city.
The home is in a lovely forested area.
And the mimosa trees were full
of butterflies.  This summer has
been grand because these lovely
creatures have been everywhere.
The panorama from the back of the
house was just gorgeous.  It must
have been a grand place to live.
Bad Haiku Friday
Cross country running
Challenging and demanding
Discipline for life.
~~~~~

Grandson, Neil,  is in the 5th grade and has started running cross country this year.  This brings back fond memories of when his mother, uncles, and aunt ran cross country.  The training requires discipline and stamina and most of all a desire to run and finish the race.

The life of a Christian is not unlike that of a cross country runner.  Through hills and valleys the runner must run in order to cross the finish line.  We who follow Christ find those very same hills and valleys, but with proper training and the will to train, we too will find the discipline to carry on for the prize at the finish line here is priceless.

So this weekend we are off to South Knox for yet another adventure.  We're going to be there to encourage Neil in his race to the finish line.

Please visit Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings and read more "bad haiku's."  Offer your talent and skills as well.  It really is a lot of fun!

~~Adventure Tour Express~~

Central City, Colorado

Gold found there in May, 1859 caused it to be
called The Richest Square Mile on Earth.
Saint James United Methodist Church
One of the oldest churches in the state.
Central City Opera House
Built in 1879 by Welsh and Cornish Miners.
Carriage House Sign
Store Fronts

A journey to Central City is step back in time.  Though gold mining is no longer the main source of income, it is grand to walk the streets and wonder what thrilling events took place here.  There is a wonderful book written by Caroline Bancroft about the history of Central City called Gulch of Gold.  I highly recommend it.
