Fall in Hope of Spring

Hardy yucca plant
Stong and sturdy in the Spring
With beautiful blooms

But in the Autumn
It still stands strong and sturdy
In hope of the Spring

Beautiful Friends

WELCOME

It's a most beautiful time of the year.  The leaves begin to change, but flowers continue to bud and bloom.  I do love to walk in the fall.  Fresh crisp air that awakens me and makes me appreciate all that is dear to me even more.

Roses continue to boast of their beauty, as if trying to remind me today, that I need not worry for they will return in the Spring to brighten my days.  For surely that is their sole purpose.

Days decrease,
And Autumn grows
Autumn is everything

The Autumn Rose

Walks do the soul good
Reflecting on God's beauty
Lifts me to new heights

Shadows and sunlight
Lights and darks and shades of pink
Boast of God's glory

Single Gerber Daisy

I have waited all summer for this pot full of green foliage to bloom.  And this morning I went outside to work in the garden and found this single Gerber daisy blooming. . .the first day of Autumn.  Ron nursed this plant through the winter knowing it was an annual but hoping that he could keep it alive.  Well, he succeeded.  It just waited to the very end to show her glory.  Don't know if Ron is going to try to nurse it again this winter.  Will wait and see.

~~~~~~
All this greenery
Lush and green the Gerber leaves
Waiting for a bloom
Waiting for a bloom
All the summer long I wait
And she blooms today
Proud as she can be
Vivid is the color red
So very pretty
Last Days of Summer
Autumn is knocking
Requesting entrance of you
Rapping at the door
Hearing the knocking
Summer wants to resist it
But knows it cannot
Autumn is rapping
Allowing Fall to enter
She makes her exit
The Joy in Tea Talk
Sometimes, during my hours of prayer, I picture myself as a piece of stone before a sculpture who intends to make a statue our of it. Presenting myself like this before the Lord, I beg him to form form in my soul his perfect image and make me wholly like Christ. ~Brother Lawrence~
I'm having...Good Earth decaf original tea.  Seems to be a perfect day to celebrate Mother Earth with this tea on this day of Season Change.
My teacup... is nearly empty but it was oh so good.
I'm feeling... glad I was able to get a lot of things done yesterday and am ready for work today!
On my mind...The busy weekend!!!  Tomorrow is Kellie's Senior Night recognition at the football game, working at Mother Teresa's Treasures on Saturday, marching band contest Saturday afternoon and then friends for dinner on Sunday!  Exciting!!!!
Please join Ruth at Tea Talk today.
Today I also join Meri for Share the Joy Thursday.   For I believe we need to find it in my life every day no matter the realities in which we live.  God is Good in so many ways even in times of trial.
Enjoy the glorious colors of this Autumn Season!
The Simple Women's Daybook
Rising to another day is always a blessing, one in which thanksgiving and praise is offered to the all-loving Father. So it is with gratitude I begin this day.
~~Outside my window...it is very dark. It's 4:25 a.m. Sam's peering through the office window meowing to come in.
~~I am thinking...it would be grand to visit my friends Martha in NJ or Fay in TX and chat over a cup of tea.
~~I am thankful for...sunshine and glorious Autumn colors that reflect the sun.
~~From the kitchen...clam chowder.
~~I am wearing...my long-sleeved nightgown.
~~I am creating...the Book of Wit 'n' Wisdom.
~~I am going...have a less hectic week.
~~I am reading...still A Call To Joy by Matthew Kelly. I have found it to be a good book for reflection.
~~I am hoping...the weather continues to be glorious.
~~I am hearing...humming of the computer in the stillness.
~~Around the house...decorations complete for Halloween, just need to dust and vacuum.
~~One of my favorite things...watching old movies.
~~A few plans for the rest of the week: 1) continue to work on my vacation journal (it was a BUSY summer);2) prepare for Halloween travel to INDY to visit grand kids for the holiday;get my hair cut; 4) prepare Bible study for Thursday.
~~Here is picture thought I am sharing...
When I was awakened in th middle of the night because I couldn't find my feet, this poem came to mind.
Sam's on the bed
Duchess is on the floor
The breeze is blowing
Cool and fair.
The pitter pat of rain
Can be heard on pane
The cat and the dog
Unconcerned.
Oh, what a wonderful life! Wishing you all a grand day!
A Simple Woman's Daybook
While it's been a while since I've done this I do visit those who contribute. So after you visit here please visit Peggy at The Simple Woman and journey along the path of life we all share.
So I begin.
1. I'm thinking...the trees still are in all their glory. God is allowing us to appreciate them a little longer this year..
2. From the Kitchen...and this morning it's hot oatmeal.
3. I am creating...and have nearly completed my presentation for RCIA Wednesday night.
4. I'm wearing... robe and slippers. (Some things never change.)
5. I am reading..."The Words we Pray" by Amy Welborn, again.
6. I'm hoping...I'm completely over this sore throat by Wednesday and tha I don't sound like an old fog horn. It is still sore and the cough is such a nuisance.
7. I am hearing...Duchess, the dog, snoring.
8. Around the house...There are signs that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
9. Few plans for the rest of the week...Get it readiness for my 1st meeting with Sister Dorothy and we journey the road to my becoming a Providence associate.
10. One of my favorite things is...the color of trees this time of year tha remind me that they are again preparing for a new resurrection in the Spring.
11. Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
Apple Picking
Yesterday Ron and I went to a friend's dad's house to pick apples. The trees were so over burdened with the apples that some of the branches were bowed and even broken. They weren't big apples or "store" pretty apples, but tasty they were. The bees were buzzing and humming over the ones on the ground, but do not fear. We thanked God for their presence.
When we were done. We loaded up the ladder and gathered the bags and went right down to Mother Theresa's Treasures and the Newburgh Food Pantry. Kathy was there to receive these tasty morsels and we were grateful that we could offer them. Ron and I had the opportunity to give of time, talent and the treasure of God's creation. And to give credit where credit is due. This was a wonderful idea, Ron had. For me, it was one of those Christ moments. He was there in our midst!!
