~~Tea Talk~~

Tea to the English is really a picnic indoors.
Alice Walker

I'm having...Vanilla Carmel tea by Bigelow.

My teacup...my bright and cheery mug. So early I need a bit of color to waken properly.

I'm feeling...a tad tired. Last night seemed a bit short.

On my mind...is the patio area. It's needing some cleaning before we set out the patio furniture. But we're to have more rain starting this afternoon.

The flood waters are finally receding here on the Ohio River,

From Cocoon to Butterfly

Yesterday found Miss Ainsley in her nice warm cocoon!  Secure in her warm blanket she sharing sister's room as she does when Grandpa and Grandma come to visit.  Her day would be one of evolution, excitement and transformation.  It was a terrific ride.  Ainsley made her first Holy Communion yesterday.

It was so much fun watching her get her hair done.  From beginning to end it was a real metamorphosis?  Truly from Cocoon to Butterfly

Butterflies are always beautiful and this one is no different.

Only a glimpse of the moon through the clouds.  Except for 2 or 3 days here and there the last three weeks rain has been our constant companion.  Last year was drought.  This year flooding.  I know know why I am so grumpy, sad, and mournful.  Sunshine lifts the spirits and feeds us.  Yes, my Vitamin D level is diminished.  So everyday I remind myself,  "This is the day the Lord has made...Rejoice and be glad, you silly girl!"  And so today I will try again!

Mosaic Monday/Macro Monday

Easter Eggs, Kitty Cats and Puppy Dogs.

It was a grand weekend before the rains came on Easter Sunday.  In all 18 eggs I only had one crack during boiling.  A miracle!!!  Sam found he was out of the way while napping on the piano.  And just look at Duchess as she stays for her treat!  Yes, indeed, it was a good day!

After the hail and rain...this glorious blossom appeared.

WHEN the sun comes after rain
And the bird is in the blue,
The girls go down the lane
Two by two.

When the sun comes after shadow
And the singing of the showers,
The girls go up the meadow,
Fair as flowers.

When the eve comes dusky red
And the moon succeeds the sun,
The girls go home to bed
One by one.

And when life draws to its even
And the day of man is past,
They shall all go home to heaven,
Home at last.

Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II by Loci Lenar

Pope John Paul II, a photo by Loci Lenar on Flickr.

In light of Mary, the Church sees in the face of women the reflection of a beauty which mirrors the loftiest sentiments of which the human heart is capable; the self-offering totality of love; the strength that is capable of bearing the great sorrows; limitless fidelity and tireless devotion to work; the ability to combine penetrating intuition with words of support and encouragement.
Pope John Paul II
Redemptoris Mater, 1987

Celebration of many celebrations.  May begins with the month dedicated to the Mother of God.  It's Divine Mercy Sunday.   And finally, it is the dain in which Pope John Paul II is beatified.

Long Two Weeks

The tulips are gone.  The daffodils have passed.  And for two weeks we've had nothing but thunderstorms, hail and rain.  Now is the time to get into the soil and do some rejuvenation!  Not just for the plants but for the soul as well.  Working in the glory of the sunshine,  thanking God for it since is has been so long away, that's what I will be doing today.   I'm also going to, inthis quiet, take stock of my eternal garden.  There are sure a lot of weeds there.  For tomorrow's forecast is for more clouds and rain.   I wish you all a glorious sunshine day.  Please soak up some of that natural Vitamin D and give your soul a hearty dose of the eternal sunshine by communing with the Triune God.

To all God's beloved...,who are called to be saints:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:7

As I beigin my journey this year through the these coming Holy Days, I will be taking a respite from posting until after Easter.  If you will keep me in your prayer as I will you!  Wishing you a fulfilled journey.

~~Haiku My Heart~~

Posted by Picasa

a son's devotion to his mother
is one of God's real treasures
more precious than gold

Dedicated to my brother who watches over and attends to the needs of my mother.  This last week she had to be hospitalized for an S2 fracture in her back.  He communicated everything to us and kept us all apprised of her condition.   He worked with the hospital staff and the staff at St. John's to get her settled when she was discharged.  This has truly reduced Mother's anxiety and she can make decisions without too much stress.  Well done, Phil!
